2nd batch of Vanni IDP children admitted to Ratmalana Hindu College

Sixty-seven children including 44 boys and 23 girls left Vavuniyaa
Poonthoaddam Rehabilitation Centre Saturday to Colombo under the
second phase of rehabilitation program. They were admitted to
Colombo Hindu College to receive fully fledged education. They would
be provided with all facilities such as lodging, clothing and other
expenses, sources in Vaviniyaa said.
The children had fled from the Vanni region during the final battle against the LTTE and sought refuge in Vavuniyaa. Under the first phase of the rehabilitation program 144 Vanni IDP
children - 87 boys and 53 girls, detained in Vavuniyaa Poonthoaddam
Rehabilitation Centre were brought to Colombo and admitted to
Ratmalana Hindu College to continue their education.
