Presidential helicopter wounds soldiers

Two Sri Lankan Army (SLA) soldiers were wounded when the Sri Lankan President's helicopter tried to land at the PA's election campaign venue in the hill country town of Bandarawela today.

The helicopter in which the President was travelling had developed mechanical trouble this afternoon while it was close to the campaign grounds.

Two Sri Lankan security forces personnel were wounded when the helicopter attempted to make a hurried landing close to the spot where the meeting was scheduled to be held later this evening.
