Malaria hits Kilinochchi

A severe epidemic of Malaria has hit the Kilinochchi district. Medical officers and foreign aid agencies say that the situation has been further compounded by a severe shortage of medicines and equipment for anti-Malaria campaign.

In the month of October alone 2433 positive cases of Malaria have been identified in the district.

Of these, medical officers say that 298 have been diagnosed with the deadly brain Malaria.
