45,969 IDPs eligible to vote

About forty five thousand nine hundred and sixty seven internally
displaced voters are eligible to cast their votes in the
forthcoming general elections that is set to be held on April. Of them
fifteen thousand eight hundred and eighty seven IDP voters are from
Vanni electoral district, according to a communiqué issued by the
Elections Secretariat.
IDP voters from other districts:- Jaffna-408, Batticaloa-09, Puththalam- 26582,
Anuradhapura-2048, Colombo-111, Gampaha-567, and Kalutara 150. Fifty thousand IDPs applied for voting from polling stations where
they are now located. However, about four thousand thirty three
applications were rejected, election department sources said. Elections Department has advised eligible IDP voters to produce their
identity cards at the polling station.
