Advani demands report from Congress government on Pirapaharan’s mother refused entry into India

Former leader of the opposition and the current leader of Barathiya Janatha Party (BJP), Mr. L. K. Advani, blamed the Congress led government of India to have brought shame on India on international level by not allowing 80-year-old Mrs. Velupillai Parvathi, the mother of Liberation Tiger Leader Mr. Velupillai Pirapaharan, to enter India for medical treatment, in the Indian Lok Sabah Monday. He further demanded the central government to release a report on this matter immediately, sources in Delhi said.

During question hour in the Lok Sabah Monday when T. R. Balu, Dravida Munetra Kazhakam (DMK) MP, said that the Central government had sent back Ms. Parvathi from Chennai airport without informing the DMK, Advani intercepted saying that it was ridiculous to say that DMK did not know about Ms. Paravathi being sent back.

Mr. Advani further asked as to how could India refuse entry to an elderly lady who wished to get medical treatment in the country and followed to demand the government to immediately release a report on the matter which has brought shame on India.

T. R. Balu in response said that it was the Jeyalalitha led All India Annna Dravida Munetra Kazhkam (AIADMK) government that had initially entered the name of LTTE leader’s mother in the black list of persons not to be allowed to land at Chennai airport.

The AIDMK parliamentarians present in the Lok Sabah interrupted T. R. Balu and asked why the DMK which did nothing to prevent the list being prepared then should make a big issue of it now.
