Eleven Tigers killed in sea battle

Eleven Tigers, including a Lt.Col, were killed in a sea battle between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan Navy which took place in the seas off the Mullaithivu coast on Saturday, May 1, said the Voice of Tigers in its night news bulletin today.

The radio said the Tigers inflicted heavy damages on the Sri Lankan Navy during the battle that had raged from 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

According to the VoT following Tigers died in the sea battle:

Captain Ealamainthan (Navaratnam Navaneethanan of Kilinochchi)

Captain Puthiyavan (Vithiyaananthan Uthayakumar of Jaffna)

Captain Vanmathy (Kumarasamy Selvarajani of Jaffna)

2nd Lt.Eelavan (Antonythaas of Kilinochchi)

2nd. Lt. Sukantha (Atputhananthan Sukantha, Jaffna)

2nd Lt.Thamileelaval (Vigneswary of Jaffna)

Thamilarasi (Saunthalathevi Shanmukarajah, Jaffna).
