Further clashes in the Vanni

The Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said in its morning transmission today that two Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers and a LTTE member were killed in confrontations at Oddusuddan in the Vanni region yesterday.
The radio said that the Tigers have recovered the bodies of the dead soldiers and some military equipment. The LTTE member killed in the confrontation was named as Sellappu Ashokumar of Jaffna. The radio further said that two members of the LTTE were killed in confrontations with the SLA in the general areas of Periyamadhu, 12 km west of Madhu, on Monday May 10. They are: Palaniyalagan (Ambigapathy Gowrikaran of Batticaloa) and Kthiresan (Yograjah Ravichandran Batticaloa) The radio also said that the following three members of the Liberation Tigers died in the Pallamadu area, about 2 km. north west of Uyilankulam, on Monday. Thilahan (Ratnasingam Rithaas of Jaffna) was killed in an accidental explosion, while Sooriyaprabah (Mahendran Puhspamalar of Jaffna) and Shobana (Somaskandan Pirakala of Kilinochchi) were killed in an ambush by SLA.
