Exchange of bodies through ICRC

(CORRECTION) The Liberation Tigers and the Sri Lanka Army exchanged the bodies of soldiers killed in action through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The bodies of two SLA soldiers killed at Oddusuddan in a clash on Monday, May 10, were handed over to the ICRC by the LTTE at Mallavi on Tuesday.

The bodies were brought to Vavuniya on the same day by the ICRC and were handed over to the SLA, ICRC sources in Vavuniya said.

Meanwhile the bodies of the two LTTE members who were killed at Manal Aaru (Weli Oya) on Saturday May 8 were brought to Vavuniya on the same day were transported to the Vanni. The bodies were handed over to the Liberation Tigers by the SLRC, sources added.
