Discussions with Oman on Crude, Gas import

Sri Lanka Government Minister of Petroleum, Susil Premajayantha, held discussions with Oman Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Hamed Al Ali, on import of crude oil and natural gas, state run media said. The meeting explored ways to craft a Government to Government agreement avoiding the use of an intermediary to optimize the price of oil and gas, media further said.
The minister said that the discussions with the Oman government had ended on a very positive note. Meanwhile, Premajayantha also said that a large number of Omani investors have expressed interest to invest in Sri Lanka for large scale development projects. The Minister also said a large number of Omani nationals were visiting Sri Lanka after the end of the war, and that the Omani national airline was flying seven times a week with a large number of Omani nationals.
