Seven Tigers killed in naval battle -VoT

The Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said this morning that 7 Liberation Tigers were killed in a sea battle with the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), off the coast between Mullaithivu and Pulmoddai, on Wednesday night.
A Dvora fast attack craft (FAC) of the SLN was damaged in the sea battle which started at 11 p.m. and continued till 2.30 a.m. the following morning, the radio said.
Meanwhile SLN sources said a boat belonging to the Liberation Tigers was destroyed off the coast of Alampil, between Kokkilai and Mullaithivu.
A SLN craft observed the LTTE boat speeding towards the south and engaged it. Later four more LTTE boats joined the battle, the Navy said.
One LTTE boat was destroyed and four others were damaged in the ensuing four hour long battle, the Navy further said.
The SLN boat suffered only a slight damage and there were no injuries to Navy personnel, they added.
