A 25-year-old male from Katkoava'lam in Point Pedro, who was on his way to Colombo last Wednesday, has been reported missing, according to complaints registered with the Jaffna branch of Human Rights Commission and the Sri Lankan Police at Point Pedro.
The family of the missing person, Alageswaran Thulasimaran, has not heard from him since Wednesday noon when he phoned his wife confirming that he would be travelling further from Vavuniyaa to Colombo on train. Later, when the family members were not able to get in touch with Mr. Thulasimaran, they contacted his friends and relatives in Vavuniyaa and Colombo tracing for him. There was no information on his whereabouts. The family, fearing that Thulasimaran had been abducted, has lodged complaints with the Human Rights Commission and the Police. The missing person is a father of a child.
