Unidentified male body recovered from Mannaar coast

A headless highly decomposed body of a male was recovered along the coast of Mannaar Sea on Tuesday, sources in Mannaar said. Mannaar police took the body and handed it over to the Mannaar general hospital after being alerted by members of the public.

Mannaar District Judge directed the authorities to keep the body in the mortuary for fourteen days for identification and to submit a report.

Six weeks earlier an unidentified body of a male person in a highly decomposed state was recovered from the Mannaar coast and later buried by the state as no one claimed it, sources said.
