EP councilor opposes transfer of divisional secretaries from Batticaloa

The transfer of divisional secretaries in the Batticaloa district at the instance of SL administration in Colombo has created a stir among the public in the Batticaloa district. Eastern Provincial Councilor R.Thurairatnam has called for the immediate suspension of transfers of the divisional secretaries.

Although the transfer of Vavu'natheivu DS was later differed due to protest, a renewed move is being taken to transfer him, informed sources said.

The politically motivated transfers are made without even abiding to the rules and regulations of the discriminative administration of Colombo, civil sources in Batticaloa said.
