Charred bodies of Tamil mother, daughter found in Trincomalee

The charred bodies of two Tamil women have been found inside a house in Aalangkea'ni in Ki'n'niyaa DS division in Trincomalee district Tuesday morning. The bodies have been identified as 55-year-old mother Vijayarani Mahendran and her 25-year-old daughter Mahendran Janani, police sources said. The husband of the deceased Vijayarani was clubbed to death six months ago by a group of unidentified persons.

On receipt of information from Kanmani Amma, the elder sister of deceased Vijayarani, the SL police in Ki'n'niyaa has recovered the two charred bodies inside the house.

The bodies of the victims have been handed over to the Ki'n'niyaa government hospital for postmortem examination.
