Human skull found

A human skull was found by diggers in the village of Munai on the coast of Pt.Pedro in Jaffna yesterday residents in the area said. According to them there was a Sri Lanka army camp at the spot where the skull was discovered yesterday.
They said that Anthony Vincent Mariyanayagam was digging a well in his compound when the skull was found at the depth of about ten feet around 11 a.m. The digging was stopped as a consequence. Neighbours said that Mariyanayagam has not reported the matter to the authorities out of fear but has left the skull at the local cemetery. A resident of Munai who inspected the skull said that its teeth were largely intact. Meanwhile The Sri Lankan Police produced a senior area leader of the PLOTE wanted in connection with the decapitation of a Nelliyadi youth in March before the Pt.Pedro magistrate yesterday. The PLOTE leader, Jeya Master, was arrested at a house in 1st Cross street in Jaffna town on Sunday said Police sources. The Pt.Pedro Magistrate remanded Jeya Master (Sabapathipillai Jeyachandran, 30). Three other members of the PLOTE are already in remand over the abduction and decapitation of Rajaratnam Rajeswaran on March 27 this year.
