Sampanthan arrives from India, meets constituting party leaders[TamilNet, Monday, 29 December 2014, 23:12 GMT]R.Sampanthan, the parliamentary group leader of the Tamil National Alliance, who arrived in Colombo Sunday morning from his visit to India presided over a crucial meeting of the TNA co-ordinating committee at Madiwela parliamentary complex on Sunday night, news sources in Colombo told TamilNet. Discussion about the upcoming presidential election and the election manifestos of the ruling UPFA and the common opposition front had lasted for several hours till late in the night. TNA parliamentarians Mavai Senathirajah, M.A.Sumanthiran, Selvam Adaikalanathan, Sivasakthi Anandan and Tharmalingam Siththarthan and several representatives representing the constituent Tamil parties in the Tamil National Alliance have participated in the discussion. It was decided at the end of the discussion the stance of the TNA in the forthcoming presidential election would be announced in a day or two by TNA leader Mr.Sampanthan at an especially convened press briefing, informed sources told TamilNet.
