Four policemen killed in claymore blast

Four Policemen including a Police Inspector were killed and a Sub Inspector was wounded when the jeep they were travelling in was hit by a claymore mine at Veerapuram, few kilometres from Cheddikulam in the Vavuniya district, around 10 a.m. this morning

The policemen were travelling from Cheddikulam to Aavaranthulaawa Police Post about 12 km.of Vavuniya town.

Three civilians were also wounded in the attack. The Police Jeep was badly damaged, Police said.
