Three arrests in Batticaloa[TamilNet, Tuesday, 05 October 1999, 11:58 GMT]Savarimuththu Innasimuththu, father of five was arrested by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) at his house in Naavalady in Batticaloa on Sunday, October 3, said sources. Rajapakse Nelson, a 17 year old school boy who was staying with his uncle at Kaluwanchikudy was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) on Friday, October 1. Both of them have been handed over to the Counter Subversive Unit (CSU) of the Sri Lankan Police for further inquiries. Meanwhile a bus driver, Mylvaganam Sivalingam was also arrested by the SLA on Friday, October 1, while he was returning home after work. He has been a driving buses to the Paduvannkarai region, an area controlled the Liberation Tigers. Bus services to Paduvaankarai have been affected following his arrest as other drivers and conductors fear arrests, sources in Batticaloa said.
