Munasinghe appointed Commander to Jaffna

Major General Sarath Munasinghe has been appointed as the Commander of the Sri Lanka Security Forces, Jaffna. He was serving as General Officer Commanding (GOC) 54-Division stationed at Elephant Pass.
He assumed duties yesterday. Major General Lohan Gunawardene who was the Commander of the Sri Lanka Security Forces, Jaffna, has been transferred to the Sri Lanka Army Head Quarters in Colombo, sources said. Meanwhile the Presidential Secretariat has requested the Government Agent (GA) of Jaffna to submit the names and addresses of the priests of all faiths in the peninsula, said sources. Consequent to this directive, the Government Agent has made an appeal to all priests to register their names and addresses with their respective Divisional Secretaries.
