O' Level papers and patients taken to Vanni

GCE Ordinary Level Examination question papers were sent from Vavuniya to the Vanni areas held by the LTTE today, with the escort of the ICRC along with 13 patients who were treated in Vavuniya hospital, said Harsha Gunawardene, spokesman for the ICRC in Colombo.
Hospital sources said the patients were returning to Madhu after getting treatment for wounds received in the mortar attack on the Madhu Church on November 20. Government officials said that the convoy transporting the question papers and the patients went along Mannar road, Madhu Road junction to Madu and from there to Kilinochchi and Mullaithivu. The ICRC escorted the convoy up to Madhu and the convoy to the Vanni will be escorted by the UNHCR from there, said officials. The ICRC spokesman further stated that 8 patients were escorted from Mallavi hospital to Vavuniya today. He also mentioned that the ICRC is hoping to bring two POWs released by the LTTE from the Vanni tomorrow.
