EPDP replaces MPs

The Eelam Peoples Democratic Party (EPDP) has appointed Mr. Sinnathurai Thavarajah and Mr. Velummylum Kuhendran as Members of Parliament, to fill the vacancies created by the resignations of Ms S. Thangavel and M.Chandrakumar.

One of the newly appointed MPs, Mr. Kuhendran (Jegan) is the Jaffna district organiser of EPDP.

The EPDP has not filled the vacancies created by the expulsion of two MPs Ms Ramamoorthy and Rameswaran, as they have filed cases in court challenging their expulsion from the party.

The MP seat rendered vacant due to the assassination of Mr. Atputharajah Nadarajah (chief editor of the Tamil weekly, Thinamurasu,) has also not been filled by the EPDP either.
