Satyagraha at Nallur temple

The Missing Persons' Guardian Association of Jaffna (MPGA-J)went on its token satyagraha protest at the Nallur Kandasamy temple today.
The Jaffna Mother's Front also took part in the fast. Fr. Soosainathan started the satyagraha at 9 a.m. this morning. The army which ignored the earlier protest fasts, was present today at the venue. A senior military officer came later in the day and spoke to some participants. TULF Politburo member Mavai Senathirajah who is currently in Jaffna in connection with the local government elections there sat through the Satyagraha. Members of the PLOTE, EPDP and the EPRLF were also present. Members of the MPGA said that the token protest fast they have planned to have on Dec. 21 will be their last. And if they do not get a positive answer from the President at the discussion scheduled with her on Dec 29, some of them will begin a fast unto death, they said.
