POWs give government two weeks

The POWs have said that they have called off their 15 day old hunger strike today, giving another two weeks time for the government to secure their release, said the Voice of Tigers (VoT) in its night news broadcast this evening.

According to the radio, the POWs have said that they called off the hunger strike after their relatives, who are currently visiting them in Vanni, requested them to give more time to the government to take action.

The relatives have also assured the POWs that they will urge the government after they return home on Monday, the radio added.
