CARE launches Rs 64m rehabilitation project

CARE International has proposed to implement Phase 2 of the Rehabilitation Assistance Project for Internally Displaced (RAPID-II) with funding made available by European Union, in Sri Lanka, sources said.
The said project will be implemented in five districts in Sri Lanka with the support of the Government and non-governmental agencies operating locally. The five districts are: Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Puttalam, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa. The cost of the Project is estimated at 63.9 million rupees, CARE International sources said. The District Offices of the CARE International have organized orientation programmes for all partnering NGOs and Heads of Government Departments in their respective areas. The Care International opened its Trincomalee District Project Office last week. This Orientation Program for Trincomalee is scheduled to be held on April 3 at Kachcheri Auditorium under the chairmanship of the Government Agent.
