TID arrests five in Vavuniya

Five civilians including four employees of the main Post Office in Vavuniya were arrested by a special team of the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) of the Sri Lankan Police from Colombo today. Two Sub Post Masters, K.Kugathasan and A.Subramaniapillai and two minor employees, Thirunaavukkarasu and Raveendran were arrested while they were on duty at the Vavuniya main post office said sources.
Meanwhile, an employee of a Jewellery shop in Vavuniya town Kumarasingam Vishnukumar (25) of Poonthottam was also taken into custody by the Police investigators from Colombo today. Police sources in Vavuniya said that the arrests were made in connection with the attack in the Colombo suburb of Rajagiriya on March 10. Relatives of Kumarasingam Vishnukumar have complained to the Human Rights Commission (HRC) in Vavuniya about his arrest. Mr.S.Sritharan the co-ordinator of the HRC in Vavuniya said that he has notified his head office in Colombo about the arrest of Vishnukumar.
