EPRLF, PLOTE file nominations

More details of Tamil party nomination lists for the local government elections In Jaffna emerged this evening.

The EPRLF's mayoral candidate for the Jaffna municipality is Thambirajah Subathiran alias Robert who is a senior member of the organisation.

The second on the list is Thirunavukkarasu Sreetharan alias Sree who is a central committe member of the EPRLF.

The organisation has named Nagamuttu Nagendram alias Anandan also an EPRLF cadre as the chief candidate for the Waligamam north Pradeshiya Sabha.

Another cadre of the organisation called Sivarajah alias Mohan has been named the EPRLF's candidate for the chairmanship of the Chavakachcheri urban council.

Meanwhile the PLOTE has named Vadivel Vijayaratnam as the candidate for the chairmanship of the Pt. Pedro urban council.

A cadre of the organisation identified only by his nom de guerre Anton is the chief candidate for the Chavakachcheri Pradeshiya which includes Kachchai, Mirusuvil etc.,

All the Tamil groups and parties contesting the local government polls are finding it extremely difficult to persuade community leaders and even ordinary civilians to contest the LG polls. Hence everyone has been compelled to put little known and utterly unknown party cadres on the nomination lists.

All the groups were on a hectic search for candidates to fill the nomination lists this evening.
