Nominations accepted for 3 parties

The PLOTE, TELO and EPDP will contest the elections in all the Jaffna local government authorities. The nomination papers of the three ex-militant groups for the seventeen local government bodies were accepted this afternoon by the elections commission.

The leader of the PLOTE Dharmalingam Sidarthan told TamilNet this afternoon after filing nominations that are not releasing any names of chief candidates as the group will decide who will lead each local authority on the basis of the votes they poll.

The TELO was also tight lipped about its candidates. Sources said most of them were members of the group.
