Two Policemen killed

Two military trained policemen were killed and five wounded when the Liberation Tigers attacked the police station at Central Camp, about thirty kilometers south-west of Batticaloa, around 7.30 p.m. Wednesday, security sources said.

Central Camp is a small town, dominated by Sinhalese since 1990 in the boarder with Ampara.

A civilian employee at the police station was also wounded in the attack, the sources said.

The remaining policemen escaped to nearby Special Task Force camp during the initial phase of the attack, said sources.
