TULF undecided on no-confidence motion

The Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) has not yet signed the no-confidence motion against the People's Alliance government which is likely to be submitted afresh by main opposition, United National Party this week. "The central working committee of the TULF would meet shortly to take a decision whether to sign the no-confidence motion or not," said a leader of the party.
Two of the Tamil parties in opposition, All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC) and Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO), have signed the new no-confidence motion, party sources said. TULF's senior vice president Mr.V.Anandasangaree, met Mr.Ranil Wickremasinghe, Opposition Leader Tuesday evening and held discussion as regards the co-operation with the UNP, party sources said. The ruling People's Alliance has, however, said that it would defeat the no-confidence with the support of the Marxist Janata Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP). But the UNP has claimed that it would oust the government from power without the support of JVP. UNP now depends on the PA dissidents to obtain majority for its no-faith motion. The Parliament is due to meet on October 8.
