SLMM officials arrive Trincomalee

The Norwegian monitoring team held discussions Wednesday morning with the Trincomalee Government Agent Mr.N.H.K.Nelumdeniya and government military authorities at the District Secretariat. Ms Victoria Lund, a Norwegian who is to head the Trincomalee District Monitoring Committee with another monitor Mr. Pontus Westrom, a Swedish national arrived Trincomalee Tuesday evening.

Trincomalee District General Officer Commanding Brigadier D.Ratnasabapathy and Major Attapattu with Superintendent of Police Lihin Sumanaweera participated in the discussions.

The discussion centered on locating the office of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in Trincomalee town.

Later Ms Victoria Lund told media personnel that the SMM would commence its work once its office is set up.
