Navy collecting EPDP signs, banners?

The campaign for the local polls in Jaffna is not without its lighter moments, though the EPDP might not agree. The sign board announcing the Eelam Peoples' Democratic Party office at Sithankerny junction was dismantled and carried away by unkown persons last night.

The EPDP was found grumbling that it would cost rupees 4000 (60.00 US $) to replace the vanished board.

The misfortunes of the EPDP do not end there. Two days ago, banners put up by the EPDP in Nainatheevu were pulled down and all their posters torn up by unidentified persons.

The EPDP blames the Sri Lanka Navy for ruining its election campaign in the islands.
