Low turn out at clustered booths

Reports from Jaffna said that polling was very low in Kokkuvil,Maruthanaamadam, Inuvil, Sankaanai, Sandilippai, Uduvil, Vaddukkoddai and generally in Waligamam west.

There are seven polling booths clustered together at the Kokkuvil Hindu College. Each booth is meant for about 1500 voters.

But until 2.00 p.m. (8.00 hours GMT) only about 150 people had turned up to cast their ballots said the TamilNet corresspondent.

The turnout was similarly very low at the polling booth cluster at the Inuvil Central College he said.

However, voter turn out was much better in Kopai and Chunnakam areas he said.
