Hundreds of people participated in the hunger campaign, which commenced around 9 in the morning and concluded at about 2 in the afternoon. The Jaffna District Peoples' Forum (JDPF) and the Jaffna District JPs Association organized the token hunger strike, sources said. Residents of Kayts, Vadamarachchi, Thenmaradchchi and Valigamam areas also participated in the campaign.
