SLMM chief meets Trinco LTTE commander Pathuman

The new head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM), Major General Triggve
Teleffsen, Friday afternoon held discussions with the Trincomalee
area commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), Colonel
Pathuman, and Trincomalee district political head, Mr.Tilak. The discussion
centred regarding the movement of LTTE cadres in the Trincomalee district,
sources said.
Major General Triggve Teleffsen arrived at Chinabay by a Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) craft Friday
morning and this was his first official visit to Trincomalee as the new
head of the SLMM. He met the local heads of the three State armed forces
and the Police in Trincomalee, sources said. Later in the afternoon he went to Muttur by a speedboat of the Sri Lanka
Navy (SLN) accompanied by the local head of the Trincomalee SLMM, Mr.Jan Ledang.
From Muttur jetty he and other members of the SLMM team were taken by SLMM
vehicles to Sampoor, which is under the control of the LTTE.
