Dynamiting for fish kills fisherman in Mannar

Abdul Amunah of Puthukuddiruppu, Pesalai in the Mannar district, died, and two others were seriously wounded when they were engaged in dynamiting fish in the Mannar Sea Saturday morning, medical sources said.

David Anton (26) of Thoddaveli and Rasan (24) of Pesalai, who were wounded in the incident, swam to the shore Saturday night and got admitted at the Mannar base hospital, the sources said.

The dead fisherman's body was recovered Saturday evening. The boat was also damaged due to the dynamite explosion, police said.
