Balasingham ill, leaves for London - VoT

Political advisor and leader of the peace delegation for the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), Mr. Anton Balasingham, suddenly fell ill in Kilinochchi and is on his way to London, Voice of Tigers (VoT) reported in its evening broadcast, Sunday.

Mr. Balasingham and his wife Adele Balasingham left Kilinochchi Public Grounds in a Sri Lanka Airforce (SLAF) helicopter at 2pm Sunday, the VoT broadcast added.

He is expected to fly to London from Katunayake, Sunday night, according to the broadcast.

Residents of Kilinochchi, LTTE cadres and several LTTE commanders gave them a send-off at the public grounds, said VoT.
