Puthuvai Ratnathurai’s poem collection released in Trinco

The introductory event for the book ‘Ulaikalam,’ a collection of poems written by Poet Puthuvai Ratnathurai, head of the Arts and Cultural Department of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, was held Sunday evening at the Trincomalee Town Hall.

| The first release of the book was held in Jaffna recently and the first introductory event for the book was held in Trincomalee. The Arts and Literature Committee in Trincomalee organized the event. Attorney-at-law Mr.K.Sivapalan presided. Mr.Uthayapalan, the LTTE's administrative head in Sampur, handed over the first copy of Ulaikalam to Kuralamutham K.Vinayagasothy. At the commencement, the father of an LTTE martyr, Mr.K.R.Sivalingam, lit the flame of sacrifice. Ms K.Chandrakumary made the welcome address. Dr.Raja Tharmarajah delivered the keynote address and Mr. A.Yatheendra introduced the book to the audience. Messrs N.Anandaraj, Thillaimuhilan and S.Vilvaretnam delivered addresses of appreciation. Mr.A.S.Gunaratnam proposed the vote of thanks.
