SLMM head to hold talks with LTTE's Trinco leaders

The Norwegian head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission, Major General (Retd.)Triggve Tellefsen, is scheduled to hold talks with the Trincomalee district area commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, Colonel Pathuman, and
the Trincomalee district political head, Mr.S.Tilak, on Monday morning around 11 a.m., SLMM sources said.
The SLMM’s deputy head in Colombo, Mr.Hagrup Haukland, and its spokesperson, Ms. Agnes Bragadottir, will accompany the SLMM head to Sampur in the LTTE held Muttur
east, south of Trincomalee district, to hold talks expected to focus on important issues pertaining to the ground situation in Trincomalee district, sources said. Meanwhile, the talks scheduled to be held at the office of the SLMM in Trincomalee between the leaders of the LTTE and Muttur Muslims Thursday morning was postponed for a later day with mutual agreement between the parties concerned, said Mr.Abdel Burkan, head of the SLMM in Trincomalee. The SLMM in Trincomalee had made arrangements for the scheudled talks between LTTE and Muslim leaders following the outbreak of violence in Muttur recently, the sources said.
