The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Sunday denied reports in a section of the media that the President Ms Chandrika Kumaratunge has invited the TNA for urgent talks. The leader of the Tamil National Alliance parliamentary group Mr.R.Sampanthan told Tamilnet that the TNA has not received any invitation from the Presidential Secretariat for such talks.
TNA leaders would meet and take a decision whether to accept her invitation or not on receipt of such invitation. Till now the TNA has not received any invitation, Mr.Sampanthan said. TNA sources said TNA would not go for talks with the President under any circumstances, as she has not been sincere in peace talks from the start of her reign. President Ms Chandrika Kumaratunge has been discussing with leaders of political parties and civil society leaders with regard to her call for the formation of government of reconstruction and reconciliation in an attempt to resolve the current political crisis, political sources said.
