9 Naval personnel killed in Vanni - VoT

The Voice of Tigers (VoT) said in their night broadcast yesterday that nine Sri Lankan Navy personnel travelling in a tractor were killed in their claymore mine attack between Nayinamadu and Mathiyamadu.

The radio said that there were 18 SLN personnel in the tractor at the time of the attack and that six of them were wounded when the tractor was hit by the claymore mine.

The radio said that the Liberation Tigers had attacked the SLN detachment in Kilaly on the south-eastern coast of the Jaffna peninsula again in the early hours of the morning yesterday, wounding five commandos of the elite Special Boat Squadron of the SLN.
