Sri Lanka PM office delegation visits Jaffna

A delegation of officials from the Sri Lankan prime minister's office held a conference at the Jaffna district secretariat Monday to identify development and rehabilitation priorities in the war devastated peninsula. Funds for development and rehabilitation in Jaffna would be allocated by ministries in Colombo next year, according to officials who were at the meeting Monday.
The delegation from the PM office was led by Sri Lanka's former defence secretary, Mr. Austin Fernando. The delegation, during its discussions with officials from the Jaffna district secretariat, the Northeast Provincial Council and SHIRN, identified rural road development, assistance for housing and home repairs, health and sanitation and emploment generation as the four priority areas.
