SL Airlines assists Trincomalee students

The Sri Lankan Airlines, at an event in Trincomalee Vigneswara Maha Vidiyalayam Thursday donated a consignment of exercise books and other learning kits to more than three hundred fifty students of rural schools badly affected in the two-decade-old war in the Trincomalee education zone, education officials said.

distributed the exercise books and other items to the needy students of
five schools, Kanniya Tamil School, Kappalthurai Tamil School,
Linganagar Konalinga Pilliayar School, Trincomalee Vigneswara Maha
Vidiyalayam and Thiriyai Tamil Vidiyalayam. Principals of these schools were present at the event with the students. Ms Deshini Abeyawardene said the Sri Lankan Airlines management has decided
to donate learning materials to needy students in areas where it has its
branches. She said next week Jaffna district students would be provided
with exercise books and other learning materials.
