PLOTE's Deputy condemns US action

The Deputy leader of the PLOTE, Manikkam Dasan issued a strong statement in Vavuniya this evening condemning the American government for listing the LTTE as a terrorist organization.

In this long statement, among other things, he attacks the US for engaging in the greatest terrorist acts and calls it an imperialist power which acts in collusion with Israel.

"A perusal of the list shows that America has only singled out those organizations which have not submitted to its imperialist designs. The American government has no right to ban any movement that is struggling for the liberation of its people" said Manikkam Dasan in his statement.

The reaction of the PLOTE's deputy leader in the midst of general jubilation in government and Sinhala hardline circles over the US listing the LTTE as a terrorist organization is expected to have repercussions in Colombo tomorrow (Oct.13) when the statement appears in sections of the Tamil press.
