TNA must win all nine seats in Jaffna - Gajendrakumar

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 10 March 2004, 11:23 GMT]
"It is the historical duty of Tamil people of Jaffna to elect Tamil National Alliance (TNA) candidates in all nine electoral divisions in Jaffna district to send a clear message to the International Community that Liberation Tigers are the sole representatives of the Tamil people," said Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam in an election meeting held in Point-Pedro, daily Uthayan reported.

The meeting was presided by Vincent de Paul.

"It is certain that people of Vanni, Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Amparai will provide their full support to the TNA candidates in those districts. Similarly, TNA should emerge victorious in Jaffna," Gajendrakumar added.

"There is hardly sufficient time to carryout a full fledged campaign for the elections. Tamil people should be prepared to carry out their historical duty without having to wait for individual political campaigns from the respective candidates," said Gajendrakumar.

C.V.K.Sivagnanam, another TNA candidate also spoke.
