NE Village Officers Union to get headquarters in Vavuniya

The Vavuniya Government Agent, Mr. K. Ganesh, has agreed to allocate land for the headquarters of the North-East Village Officers’ (Grama Sevakas) Union (NEVOU), according to the Union’s General Secretary, Mr. K. Vamadevan.

The funds for the construction of the headquarters building will be provided from the budgetary allocation for the 22 Tamil National Alliance MPs according to an assurance given by Mr. Mavai Senathirajah, the Jaffna district MP, at the inaugural meeting of the NEVOU’s Vavuniya branch, sources said.

Mr. P. Vasanthakumar, the head of the NEVOU, presided over the meeting. The Vanni district parliamentarians, Mr. Selvam Adaikalanathan, Mr. Sivashakthi Anandan, Mr. Vino and Mr. Sivanathan Kishore also participated at the meeting.
