The statement alleged that the article was "a motivated piece designed to spread disinformation by an ex- RAW operator". The fulltext of the press statement follows: PAKISTAN DISMISSES INDIAN MAGAZINE‚S REPORT
Colombo, June 17,2004 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly dismissed the allegations that
Pakistan's High Commissioner- designate to Sri Lanka poses national security
threat to India. A senior Official of the Ministry while commenting on an article titled
"Their man in Colombo" by B. Raman published in the Indian magazine Outlook
India said that it was a motivated piece designed to spread disinformation
by an ex- RAW operator. The charges of ISI's involvement in every perceivable trouble in India have become a familiar refrain from quarters inimical to Pakistan and whose only agenda is to fuel anti-Pakistan sentiments. The accusation that Pakistan's High Commissioner-designate to Colombo poses a national security threat to India is indeed preposterous and should be dismissed with the contempt that it deserves.
