The electrification program of the area which began last year has been completed they said.
The occassion will be marked formally by a function at Ambilanthurai presided by Pattippalai Pradeshiya Sabha chairman K. Ahileswaran. The village of Ambilanthurai, which is south of Kokkaddichcholai, will also receive electricity. Both areas are in the western Paduvankarai region and are under the control of the Liberation Tigers. The electrification program saw the light of day after successful negotiations between M.L.M Hisbullah Deputy Minister of Posts and Telecommunications and the Liberation Tigers in the latter part of 1996.
