The Liberation Tigers and Tamil National Alliance parliamentarians in the Batticaloa-Amparai districts Thursday mapped out a strategy for grass roots campaign to educate people in the region about ''the political, economic, social and historical background and roots of the Tamil struggle'', an LTTE official in the east said.
TNA MPs and civil society leaders in the two eastern districts will hold meetings in every village and neighbourhood to explain the political and historical reasons for establishing an Interim Self Governing Authority in the northeast. Mr. E. Kousalyan, head of the LTTE's political division for Batticaloa-Amparai, Mr. S. Marshall, special representative of the LTTE's chief secretariat and Mr. S. Kuyilinpan head of LTTE political division for Amparai took part in the discussions. All TNA MPs from the two eastern districts were present at the three hour long discussion at Soliyaham, an LTTE conference centre three kilometres west of Kokkaddicholai.
