Agricultural exhibition to be held in Vattakachchi Model Farm

Manufacturers and resellers of agricultural tools using latest technology, and agricultural, livestock producers will be showcasing their products in an exhibition at the Model Farm premises in Vattakachchi organized by the Tamil Eelam Economic Development Organization (TEEDOR) during the first week of September, organizers in Vanni said this week.

Karikalan in VanniSmall Industries Organization, Agricultural Development Organization and Livestock producers Organization are jointly sponsoring the exhibition, they further said.

Sale booths also will be present enabling visitors to buy exhibited products, according to the organizers of the exhibition.

Karikalan, former political head of the Batticaloa Amparai division, who is currently the head of TEEDOR, told TamilNet that his new mandate is to develop the agricultural segment of the NorthEast economy by introducing new technology and methods to uplift the living conditions of the many farming families of NorthEast.

Batticaloa Commander NageshBatticaloa commander Nagesh, currently appointed as the Deputy Director of TEEDOR and spends his time assisting Karikalan administering the agricultural activities in the Vattakatchchi farm, also briefly talked to the TamilNet correspondent and stressed the importance of the forthcoming exhibition.

He said that all facilities available at his disposal are being harnessed into making the exhibition a success.
