Porn theatre manager re offended

A porn movie theatre operator in Kalviankaadu near Jaffna town who was arrested, interrogated, warned and released on April 9 by the PLOTE has run into trouble again with the ex-Tamil militants. The person was released after the principal of a leading school in Kalviankaadu, allegedly a patron of the theatre, intervened on his behalf.
However, the porn theatre owner reneged on his word and started his operation again the day after. He also lodged a complaint at the Sri Lankan army camp at Kalviankaadu that the PLOTE was trying to close down his theatre. The SLA had asked him to give the complaint in writing so that the matter could be taken up at higher levels. Following this, the theatre owner had boasted among his regular patrons and associates that the PLOTE cannot take action against him, try what it may. The Kalviankaadu theatre owner's braggadocio and the proliferation of social vices in Jaffna were commented upon and deplored yesterday (April 11) in the 'Sanjeevi', the weekend edition of the 'Uthayan', the Jaffna daily. The PLOTE, however, did not take kindly to the theatre owner's activities since he was warned and released them. The man was summoned to the PLOTE office. A spokesman of this ex-militant group said today that the porn movie operator was soundly beaten up when he had dared them to do so after an argument. However, the porn theatre owner's associates in Kalviankaadu told the TamilNet correspondent this afternoon that they expect the Sri Lankan army and Police to take action against the PLOTE soon for interfering in the civil administration of Jaffna and taking the law into its hands. "Our boys (the ex-Tamil militants) keep forgetting that they no longer rule the roost here" grumbled one of them who runs a video and CD rental in Jaffna town.
